Meet The Team

Loren Phillips (he/him)
Loren is passionate about the living room as an opportunity to provide crisis support that restores choice and hope in a comfortable setting, and avoids the often re-traumatizing experiences of encounters with law enforcement or hospitalization. Loren’s work is rooted in his personal experiences as an adolescent in the mental health care system and lifelong journey of mental wellbeing. Loren is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). When not at work, Loren enjoys co-operative living, DIY building projects, singing when no one else is listening, riding his bicycle, and has just embarked on a new journey—raising chickens in the city.
Ashley Taliferro (she/her)
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2019 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in History. My previous work experience includes behavioral therapy for children with autism and working with at-risk youth on the West Side. I am very passionate about mental health, social justice, and activism for my community. Some of my hobbies include cooking, painting, doing make-up and watching football (Go Roll Tide)

Dalton Coventry (he/him/his)
My pronouns are he/him/his, and I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. My interest in crisis support is inspired by the personal experience of my own recovery journey and a passion to expand access to peer recovery support services. I enjoy advancing the principles of harm reduction in mental health and substance abuse services, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies, and empowering individuals to direct their own treatment and recovery. My hobbies include alchemy, yoga, urban farming and plant medicine.
Dorian Grace (he/him)
Dorian is a Recovery Support Specialist at the Renaissance Living Room. He studied Psychology at UIC, and has a special interest in how history and culture shape our views of mental health. His goal is to do what he can to reduce or eliminate barriers that prevent people from seeking help. In his free time, he likes to read, cook and bake, and spend time with his fiancée and his cat.
